Steve Rubel at Micropersuasion gives his readers a heads up that the company he works for, Cooper Katz, is doing a blog initiative for Vespa. You can check out the FAQ and call for bloggers on VespaBlogs.com.
According to the FAQ and Steve's post, two blogs will be launching this summer, written by 4 Vespa customers.
Commenting on the subject, Steve says "What better way to evangelize the benefits of scootering than empowering existing customers to tell prospective scooterati why Vespa rocks?" Vespa isn't paying any of the bloggers, but is compensating them with "an early look at Vespa products and services, passes to Vespa events as well as Vespa accessory merchandise and online/media exposure."
The one question that seems to stick out in my mind is the benefit to these folks for blogging. It seems like quite a bit to ask these folks to blog on a regular basis with no monetary compensation. I'll be interested to see how often these blogs are updated.
Best of luck to Steve and the folks at Vespa. One thing's for sure, Vespa owners are an enthusiastic lot, and I certainly would never underestimate that.
