The New Gap.com?

I posted a link yesterday about how Gap.com has been shut down for a while the site is being redesigned. Of course, this doesn't seem to be a good call on their part, and you can read about it here, here and here.

BusinessLogs points out that now some people are being served the new site. I was able to access the new site by first visiting the Gapinc.com corporate site, and then navigating a link to Gap.com.

i was wondering about this as well. i need a bit longer inseam than they usually stock in their stores so i thought i'd give e-commerce a try.

i'd been hitting their "under construction" site for about two weeks(!) and finally got in this past sunday ( 09.18 ).

the site wasn't very friendly to a Mac running OSX and firefox. some of the forms cascaded across the page and the drop downs didn't.

i ordered a little over $100 worth of stuff which i only mention because there was a fairly large notice on the home page for free shipping on orders of 100 or more. as i was checking out the shipping came to 12.00. and i was like WTF? they didn't automatically capture the final cost and deduct the shipping cost --- no, you have to manually enter a code to get the cost taken off. slightly chessy imho.

anyhow i thought the site was ok. don't understand the fuss. it didn't seem that much better than other clothing sites but maybe i'm missing something.

we'll see if the order comes in on time. 5-7 days.
