Mark Cuban's Move to Satellite: Why?
Mark Cuban has signed a deal with Sirius Satellite Radio for a two-hour show called "Mark Cuban's Radio Maverick." I have the same question for him as I did for Howard Stern... Why?
Of course, the paycheck is probably the main reason. But both these guys had the opportunity to do this online and create something really special. They'd have a larger potential audience, and get to keep any revenues for themselves. Yet they both opted to do shows on satellite radio...
I'm more surprised that Cuban would do this than Stern, because Cuban is such an avid blogger.
I guess we'll just have to chalk this up to a missed opportunity.

I don't really know that money is that much of a motivator for Cuban. Afterall, if he were that concerned about money, would he write a blog, and in the format that he does?
Would he in fact get more listeners if it were distributed online? Maybe it would. I really don't know. Forrester does say that only 1% of North Americans listen to podcasts on a regular basis (the study is flawed, I know)...
I do find it a bit frustrating that although I'm a regular reader of his blog, I won't be able to listen to his radio show b/c I refuse to subscribe to satellite radio.
BTW, I found your blog through listening to Across the Sounds ;-)
