Looks like eBay is continuing its march to put the classifieds out of business. They already have a share in Craigslist, which has certainly done its damage to traditional classifieds. Now, eBay is buying Rent.com.

The newspaper industry should be quaking in their boots right now. Classifieds are one of their biggest sources of revenue.

Million Dollar eBay Bid

Adrants posts about someone trying to cash in on all the press coverage strange eBay auctions get. I'm sure most of us saw the press coverage around the world about the religious iconography on grilled cheese... so one eBay seller is starting the bidding for his slightly used shoes at $1million dollars, as he figures the media coverage they'd get from buying them would be worth at least that.
