Iliketotallyloveit.com is Digg for shoppers. I ran across this great site in the March 2007 edition of Wired Magazine, and I think it illustrates the general evolution of things online. If you aren't the first to market, pull a "long-tail" and create something niche!

Travelocity Roaming Gnome MySpace

The agency I work for, Click Here, just launched a MySpace custom community for the Travelocity Roaming Gnome. You can view the profile at: http://myspace.com/roaminggnome.

It's a project that I was closely associated with, and we're all very proud of the results. And unlike the efforts of many other advertisers on MySpace, this custom community won't be static! The Roaming Gnome will be actively blogging, commenting on profiles and sending bulletins, special deals and announcements to his friends.

Wired Rolls Out New Blogs

Wired has had a few blogs, but they're starting to roll out more, building something reminiscent of a blog network. One of the latest additions that's been buzzing around is Danger Room, a blog about "national security." It has some fun content worth checking out. Of course, some of the blogs are better than others... and a few are surprisingly thin on content.

The 60 Second Remix

WFMU is a great radio station. That's right, there are still some out there. They're an independent, free-form station based in the NYC area. Due to their use of technology, they enjoy a much larger audience outside of those geographical boundaries.

One of the latest projects from WFMU is the launch of a "60 second remix" contest. They're accepting listener submissions, and playing them on the air as well as making them available via the WFMU blog.

Amazon's "Unspun"

Amazon has launched a new site, "Unspun", that's essentially like "Digg" for lists. You can view lists such as "Top Beers" or "Best Movies That Have Come Out in 2006", where "best" means the most user votes. Unspun of course allows you to create your own list, as well as showing you localized lists for things such as "Top Sushi Restaurants in Dallas, TX." Worth checking out.
